I'm feeling more confident...

Well, I finally finished another cleaning. I even complete 2 quads of a class II. I am feeling really good right now, my instructor was even surprised at how well I did on my first class II. My aunt even bumped up my ranking from a 81/2 to a 9.25! That is out of 10 (10 being good). So I am getting the hang of it, sort of, I hope I am not jinxing myself!

I'm starting to get it!

Today my aunt came in to let me clean her teeth. I actually got to cleaning one quadrant in the first appointment! I think I am getting better! It also helps having other students to chart for me, and that I didn't need any x-rays. I am just feeling good right now!

More days in clinic....

Monday I finished my first patient. It was my mom who is a class 1B so luckily it wasn't too bad. She gave me a 2 ranking from 1-10 (1 being good, 10 being bad). So I guess I did pretty well. Today I saw my dad. Our first visit as mentioned on my last post did not go so well. However, this one went rather smoothly for the most part. He has agreed to be my exam for my class II classification, which will help me sooo much! I love my family! They are all so willing to help me through my dental hygiene experience which I am truly grateful for. I plan on seeing my dad to finish up our tx at the end of march, so hopefully by then I will have had enough practice to complete a successful class II cleaning.

Crazy, Stressful, Frustrated day!!

Well today we had our first patient day of the second semester and well......AAGGHH!! My wonderful dad drove down from Oakley and ended up having high blood pressure so I could not see him with out a physician consult. So I was frantically calling my back up patients, which neither of them could come in! Luckily my wonderful sister in-law brought in my nephew. Also luckily, I was able to pull off a 1A classification on a 20 month old!! He did so great for me, I was even able to disclose using a cotten tip applicator. So in the end the day ended up saved, and I was able to pass of one of my requirements. I am totally in my sister in-laws dept, and I am so truly greatful to have such a wonderful person in my life! Yeah for family!!

First day of the Second semester

We're Back! I don't think I am truly ready to be back, I wish we had a least another month off. Oh, well. Today we just did a review of the ultrasonic, and practiced with our Gracies. Wednesday I will get to see my dad in clinic. I think he is just as nervous as I am. I am really hoping that I will not be as flustered as I was on our first real patient day. My goal is to get better with the flow of clinic, and not feel like I don't know what I am doing. My other goal is to at least get to disclosing. Keeping my fingers crossed... Pray for me!
